3 Things to Consider While Buying a Floor Scrubber

0

A floor sweeper or scrubber is an essential tool for daily life. Whether you need it for an industrial area or your home, the buying process requires proper research and planning. And if you fail to choose a suitable machine, it would negatively impact (your business’s) labour, maintenance, operating costs, and downtime. You can easily find a floor scrubber for sale, but if you want to invest money in the right product, you need to take several things into account, such as the total area of the property you want to clean, aisle width, floor condition, debris, how many times you need to use the machine, labour rate (if required for a commercial facility), etc.

So, here are some pointers to consider to determine what you exactly need:

Sweeper or Scrubber

Many people confuse a scrubber with a sweeper. So,  before buying a machine, you should learn the differences to determine which one can meet your requirements.

A scrubber makes the floor cleaner, its air quality is better than a sweeper, and it has better lighting. Moreover, it does not contain any grits, and you can use it for silica cleaning.

Sweeper, on the other hand, is more affordable than scrubbers. It can be maintained easily. Also, a sweeper is a good option when you need to deal only with debris (light, medium, or heavy debris), as it can make your floor a little gritty. But, it is not safe to use if your floor contains silica.

Power Types

There are three ways of powering a scrubber machine, and you can choose one considering your requirements:

Battery

Machines powered by batteries reduce operation and maintenance costs. But they cannot give the best performance. Most battery-powered devices are able to run a maximum of 2 to 5 hours. And, the run time, sometimes, depends on the mechanism of your machine and operating options. Besides, since the battery is the most expensive accessory of the device, you need to consider your financial ability to continue the maintenance process before buying a battery machine.

Engine

If you are looking for a machine that can last a long time, you must opt for an engine-powered machine. These devices are available in LP, gasoline, and diesel. However, you should consider the fuel type carefully. Machines run by engines need much maintenance.

Hybrid

Hybrid machines are mainly used for industrial purposes. They can reduce your fuel expenses and extend your run time. It also enables you to utilise all the fuel stored in the LP tank.

Walking or Riding Machine

A walking device is suitable for those who need to clean a smaller area, and it is comparatively affordable than the riding one. However, you should remember that a large walking device will take more time to clean a floor than a rider machine of the same size.

A ride-on machine is often used for cleaning some specific areas. It can cut down the fatigue coming from the cleaning tasks. Besides, the rider device makes the job effortless and less time-consuming. But, buying a rider device for a small area won’t be a good idea. You can consider a rider device only for a larger space, and specifically a larger commercial space.

Cleaning is an integral part of daily life; it is a domestic chore. On the other hand, commercial cleaning tasks also cannot be skipped even a single day, and that’s why choosing the right device is of utmost importance. So, you should spend some time on research work to explore the best floor scrubber for sale. These machines are quite costly, and therefore, you can’t afford a mistake by choosing the wrong device that is not suitable for your purposes.
