How to set up your own eBay business from the comfort of your own home

0

eBay is one of the easiest businesses to start from the comfort of your own home and one of the quickest businesses that you will see profit from. You will not necessarily require much space, depending on what it is that you decide to sell, and you will only really need your cell phone and a bank account with an attached PayPal account so that your customers can give you their money when they choose to purchase your merchandise.

Choosing what to sell

In order for your eBay business to be successful, you are going to have to do some research into what items to sell. You will need to settle on items that are in high demand, fetch a good price and make a profit. Not only this, but you are going to also have to source where you will get these items from, and that you can buy them in at a very low price so that you can make a decent profit per sale, and be sure that you will not get to a time where your stocks and supplies can dry up.

Obviously, the best place to start looking is in items, topics, or interests that you yourself have. This will not only make it easier for you to sound like you know what you are talking about, but you will have an interest in your business that is not just focused on the profit.

How you are going to ship items

It is important that you keep in mind how you are going to ship these items to your customers. Indeed, eBay shipping is not complicated, and you are probably going to want to ship to as many places as possible to keep your customer base high.

Keeping on top of your eBay deliveries is something that you must do, do not be tempted to put off posting or sorting out a courier for eBay shipping, as your customer will be within their rights to complain that their items have not been delivered when specified. This can lead to bad feedback. Having too much bad feedback could end up with your seller’s account being suspended by eBay.

Getting your listings right

Receiving bad feedback can also result from having badly worded listings. It is, therefore, a particularly good idea to give as much clear information about the items or products along with plenty of photos for your potential customers to view what you are selling in detail.

Indeed, you are likely to want to achieve the maximum sale price for your product, and you are not going to be able to get that if you only use stock photos and provide minimum information. When you are taking your photos, make sure that you have a well-lit area, have a good look at your photos before you add them to your listing to make sure that they show everything that they need to. If you are selling second-hand items, be sure to show any wear in your photos and state clearly that the item is not in new condition.
